Louise Marshall Hospital (LMH) is a rural, acute-care facility providing a wide range of services. LMH serves a local and regional population of over 15,000 and treats over 15,000-30,000 people annually. The hospital currently operates 15 beds, with over 150 staff. The Emergency Department, open 24 hours a day, provides service to approximately 12,000 patients annually. Medical staff includes six family physicians, one GP/Anesthetist and are supported by several visiting specialists. Coverage for Emergency, Obstetrics, and Anesthesia is provided through existing family doctors with specialized preparation.
